When I start I don’t know what colour the finished painting is going to be. I don’t plan out the colours , though things would be much simpler if I did.

I often find I get obsessed with a particular colour - I see it everywhere. My eye gets drawn to it in textiles, graphics, walls, other art. When I move onto making colour studies certain colours show up . I knew certain shades of green were going to feature somewhere but didn’t know it would take over almost all of the canvas of this one.
