Rather than creating for a specific space or project I wanted to allow myself the freedom to create with no end point in mind. I liked the idea of each painting developing in its own unique way , each step a response to the one before . I decided to start each painting very differently - by applying a certain colour I’d seen while out walking, or by starting with drawing and line work.
The finished paintings were created through using different processes but there are common threads as one painting came to influence another.
